Wouters & Hendrix meets the Antwerp Six
Wouters & Hendrix’ signature style was incubated against a background of punk and unbridled creativity. Together with the Antwerp Six, we took part in the British Designer Show in London in 1986. It was there and then that the Belgians’ striking collections and self-built trade stands attracted international attention and the rise of Belgian fashion commenced. In those early days, we were all forging the path ahead, sharing insights and helping each other out. In our case that meant designing and crafting statement jewellery to complement Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Van Saene’s silhouettes.
